Meet David Gavegnano

Attorney David Gavegnano is a seasoned litigator with over two decades of experience in Massachusetts courts. His practice spans family law, personal injury, workers’ compensation, civil litigation, and criminal prosecution and defense.
David brings a practical, client-focused approach shaped by years on both sides of the aisle—including his work as an Assistant District Attorney in the Domestic Violence Bureau of the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office and years of defense work in private practice.

He has held senior roles at two well-known boutique divorce and family law firms in Massachusetts, where he managed some of the most challenging divorce and custody disputes in the Probate and Family Courts. Today, he serves as head of the Complex Litigation & Trial Strategy Team, a role earned through his reputation for exceptional trial advocacy, steady courtroom presence, and ability to navigate high-conflict cases from intake through resolution.

Earlier in his career, David practiced at The Law Office of Howard Kahalas, advocating for clients in personal injury and workers’ compensation matters, and at Gallagher & Cavanaugh, LLP, focusing on insurance defense. He also spent nearly a decade with Regan Associates, Chartered, handling family, criminal, and civil cases, while maintaining a solo practice dedicated to criminal defense.

David earned his J.D. from New England Law | Boston and a B.A. in History from Salem State College. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Known for his breadth of experience, courtroom acumen, and sound judgment, David is a trusted advocate in both litigation and negotiation. Outside the courtroom, he enjoys time with his family, staying active, and reading Stephen King novels.
